In utero your baby is covered by an amniotic sac and surrounded by amniotic fluid(Liqour or water around the baby) .
The water around the baby is what keeps the baby healthy and also nourishes the baby
The amniotic sac should not break before labor sets in. When it breaks you can loose the water around the baby and babies development will be affected negatively . Baby can also get an infection due to a break in its protective covering
Any time your waters break during pregnancy. It needs urgent attention. Dont wait for too long. Report to the hospital immediately.
It is completely ok of it breaks when labor has set in. Also remember that if your labor sets in and it doesn’t break your doctor or midwife will do that if its necessary
Finally dont be worried if your waters has not broken and you are full term. When labor sets in your doctor will take care of that
