THE UTERUS AND BLADDER DURING PREGNANCY

I keep visiting the washroom more frequently and am in the third trimester. Is it normal?

This is the reason. The Uterus which is carrying your baby is sitting right above the bladder putting pressure on it.

It cannot fully expand to its capacity

It make the urge to urinate more frequent.

This is completely normal as your uterus expands and baby grows big.

As baby drops into the pelvis the pressure increases as well.

Getting to the end of pregnancy the urge to visit the washroom increases and its uncomfortable for most women.

Also know that increase in frequency together with other symptoms like pain during urination, severe lower abdominal pain, fever etc could also be a sign of infection.

Good perineal hygiene is key to avoid infection. Stay close to the washroom and at night reduce the amount of fluids you take so your sleep will not be interrupted.
