When you get pregnant and it is confirmed, Menstruation ceases. Having light spotting or bleeding is not considered as menstruation.
Remember there are many reasons why you may bleed during pregnancy and that is not the same as menstruation.
Example , a miscarriage can cause bleeding, inplantional bleeding and also cause light spotting etc
In the second trimester bleeding can be due to placenta previa or abruptio etc
The point is once pregnancy is confirmed , any form of bleeding should be investigated. Don’t assume it is your menses
