Mum 33 years having prolonged labor and needs an emergency caesarian section. She calls her partner to consent and he says No! Even teenagers are giving birth vaginally and you want to be lazy
Delay continues as the woman continues to wait for her partners approval. Luckily a midwife in the family intervenes, explain the issue to the husband. He accepts and both mum and baby is saved
A young lady pregnant always tired and having hyperemesis (excessive vomiting). Neighbors and partner says to her. Are you the only one who has been pregnant before? Go to the village and see how you young girls are going to the farm with pregnancy
Some of these statements are not helpful and are said because we lack some understanding
Every pregnancy is unique! No two pregnancies are the same even if it’s the same mum
Some people go through pregnancy without any issue or complications, where as some have to deal with issues from day one till delivery. Example Hyperemesis gravidarum, diabetes in pregnancy, pre eclampsia etc
Instead of comparing one pregnancy to another. Find ways to support her. There could be conditions that need medical advice or help
Always remember no two pregnancies or birth can ever be the same. Each pregnancy is unique! Treat your partner, friend or sisters pregnancy as a unique one and find ways to support her.
LETS STOP COMPARING!
