Yes, babies can get malaria from birth ( congenital malaria)
If you don’t protect your baby, baby can still get malaria after birth especially after 3 months

Signs and symptoms of malaria in babies
🔴fever
🔴anaemia,
🔴splenomegaly( Enlarged spleen )
🔴hepatomegaly(Enlarged liver)
🔴jaundice,
🔴vomiting,
🔴diarrhoea,
🔴poor feeding,
🔴restlessness,
🔴drowsiness,
🔴pallor,
🔴respiratory
🔴distress,
🔴cyanosis,
🔴and possibly convulsions
The simple thing you can do is to protect yourself during pregnancy and also let your baby sleep in a treated mosquito nets. Keep the baby from staying outdoors, especially at night. Report early if baby has any of these signs and symptoms above
